It is clear that Domestic Violence is a huge problem in our country. I raised, with the Minister, the appalling findings of 999 calls being cancelled and badly handled. Gardaí need proper training as all such calls must be met with empathy. INSTEAD OF DISMISSING AND NOT KEEPING A RECORD WE NEED accurate data and statistics to be gathered if we are to properly resource dealing with this problem and finding solutions.
